Dinner with my Dad

Hello everyone! I've been so busy recently I've barely had time to sit down and think properly! This week my Dad came up to visit me and have a look round my university. It was a freezing cold day but we wrapped up and ventured out into the town so he could see what it was like, and treat me to an amazing three course meal! We went to Strada, an Italian restaurant which I think is only based in the UK. The meal was delicious:

Starter: We shared the Antipasto Misto: Parma ham, spicy Ventricina salami, Roman spianata, fennel fi nocchiona, semi-dried tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and olives served with a vegetable tartare and your choice of bread (we chose ciabatta, yum).

Main: Salmone Lenticchie: Roasted fi llet of salmon wrapped in Parma ham on a bed
of lentils with wilted spinach, served with green beans and
drizzled with a honey & mustard dressing.

Dessert: Stracciatella Gelato (vanilla with chunks of chocolate).

It was so yummy! The salmon was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and juicy all the way through. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough of the 'vegetable tartare' in the starter - it was delicious!

I've got some new recipes which will be up soon, but I've been completely rushed off my feet recently so most of my meals recently have been pretty basic and unexciting. On Sunday I felt positively spoiled. Thanks Dad!

I also remembered to take a picture of the TVs on the machines at my campus gym:

These are awesome! It's so good to have your pick of the channels, rather than watching whatever happens to be on the main four screens. I've been timing my workouts to coincide with when Desperate Housewives happens to be on E4, but unfortunately yesterday I was stuck watching the news. Not very motivational!

Have you had any special meals out recently? Do you prefer to watch TV or listen to music at the gym?

I HAVE to listen to music at the gym. I've actually left the gym before when my ipod died.
