Thank you so much to everyone who commented on my post on Wednesday wishing me luck for my Creative Writing assignment. It's all done and dusted now, so I just need to wait for the results.
Remember before Christmas when I posted about my legs falling off because I started running? I wholeheartedly take that post back. See, me and a friend that I live with at university thought it would be a great idea this week to try out some new classes at the campus gym. Being optimistic, we booked two in a row - Body Conditioning on Monday, and Legs Butts and Guts on Tuesday.
To be honest, I was optimistic because the classes seemed to use these fairly often -
- nice little girly weights that don't look very scary at all. Oh how wrong a girl can be.
The first class, Body Conditioning, was all weights-based, very similar to another class called Body Pump. Although I had some of the lighter weights, it seriously kicked my butt! On Tuesday morning I could really feel it in my back, arms and especially my thighs.
I had presumed that Legs, Butts and Guts would be lots of pilates-type stuff, focusing on the core. Which it mainly was, except for the introduction, which was squats. With weights. Needless to say my legs were shaking throughout the first half!
So I've definitely learnt to take a day off in between if I'm doing a class for the first time. Still, me and my friend both really enjoyed them, and I'm really excited about trying out some more classes! I want to try Pilates and also Zumba, which I've never done before but looks really fun.
What's your favourite class at the gym? Have you done Pilates or Zumba? I'd love to hear about them!
